Mill Park is the first residential venture by Piedmont and is located in downtown Woodstock, Georgia. In July of 2007, Woodstock was named one of the top 10 fastest growing communities in the United States by Forbes magazine. The rebirth and redevelopment effort of the core downtown of Woodstock has been the recipient of numerous regional awards and represents the best of urban planning today.
Mill Park consists of 32 developed lots in a traditional neighborhood setting with alley access, common greenspaces and well preserved archival landscaping. The entrance features a grove of 100+ year old post and red oak trees. The Mews, a neighborhood park features rare blue Tennessee fieldstone walls and crushed granite chip paths.
Simmons Custom Homes of Cherokee County purchased the first 16 lots and completed 10 homes as of January 2008.
The financial stability of Piedmont permitted Piedmont to hold these lots through the economic recession. Piedmont identified a builder in July of 2013 and entered into an agreement to sell its remaining lots to John Wieland Homes in a scheduled, or “takedown” process. The first closing took place in November 2013. Construction on those lots is currently underway.
